Have you ever wanted to see your artwork on the walls of a gallery?
After a tumultuous 2020, visitors of all ages were invited to ‘make their mark’ on every available surface of a dedicated gallery at the Museum of Sydney. We encouraged our audiences to share their hopes, dreams and aspirations for the future without limits. Over nine weeks, these contributions - drawings or words – gradually built a fascinating pictorial and literary reflection of our visitors, their communities and their city.
Three Sydney based artists were invited to start the process with a diverse range of works from striking murals and informal street art to bold poetry. Add to artworks by Georgia Draws A House and Digby Webster and be inspired by the poetry of Gumaroy Newman.

Gumaroy Newman
Gumaroy Newman is a proud Aboriginal man descending from the Gamilaroi and Wakka Wakka nations. He is a storyteller, presenter, cultural educator, yidaki master, MC, traditional song man and award-winning performance poet.
Gumaroy has performed in over 40 countries at events and festivals such as Glastonbury Festival, Edinburgh Folk Festival and Woodford Festival and appears regularly at major Australian events. He has worked with a variety of musical artist, including Arrested Development, Michael Franti, Bunna Lawrie, Ganga Giri, Shane Howard and Shannon Noll.
Georgia Norton Lodge
Georgia Norton Lodge is an illustrator, graphic designer and the founder of bespoke illustration business Georgia Draws A House. Send Georgia your address, and in return you receive an original illustration of your house full of character and charm. In 2020, Georgia has drawn more than 600 houses, including one for Sydney Living Museums.
Georgia has also had a successful career in branding, working with a diverse range of clients, book illustration; and leading creative and engaging workshops for people aged 5 to 95.
Digby Webster
Digby Webster is a visual artist who creates work across a range of disciplines, embracing a strong sense and evocative use of colour. Digby has exhibited in solo and group shows at numerous galleries and cultural institutions over his ten-year career, which has included an arts residency at Bundanoon Trust in 2014.
Digby is a member of Front Up, a disability-led arts and cultural program based in Western Sydney, and a founding member of the performance group RUCKUS.
